Introducing THALES payshield 10K

Thales and ALFATEC Group introduced the new product designed to protect and secure access to most sensitive information and software – THALES payshield 10K. The first official presentation took place in Hotel Hilton, on March 5th.

PayShield 10K is a next-generation payment hardware security module (HSM), enabling customers to adopt new innovative digital payment technologies easily and securely.

It’s the fifth generation of payment HSMs from Thales eSecurity and replaces the now soon to be end of sales payShield 9000. It performs tasks such as PIN protection and validation, transaction processing, key management and payment card issuance – capable of handling both chip cards (EMVs) and magnetic stripe cards. It delivers high assurance protection for ATMs, POS terminals and credit card transactions, while providing operational ease.

Products & solutions

As payShield 10K can be securely managed remotely with a ‘no touch’ implementation, deployments in dark data centers could also be optimized.

To help customers achieve their green data center goals and reduce costs, the payShield 10K features enhanced processing capabilities and power management techniques. This translates into lower overall power consumption, in some cases by up to 40%, even when operating at twice the cryptographic performance.
