hands on the keyboard, security

Under the joined flag, together with our partners Thales and Forcepoint, we are organizing our
Thales & Forcepoint Bootcamp by Alfatec.

Gabor Hirsch, Regional Sales Manager Adriatics & Hungary will present Thales's data security solutions, but also priorities and predictions for 2024.

We asked Gabor some key questions related to this year's Bootcamp!

  • Business-critical data is flowing everywhere. The boundaries are long gone. As an enterprise-wide data security expert, what approach would you recommend?

Gabor: In my opinion, the most important thing is to address the issue. The worst solution is when we try to convince ourselves that this cannot happen to us anyway. Hope is not a strategy!

  • Most data security technologies focus on protecting the specific laptop, server, or virtual machine in the cloud where the data resides, rather than protecting (encrypting/tokenizing) the data itself.  Which direction is better in these situations

Gabor: There is no silver bullet. A solution that best fits the processes, infrastructure, and compliance of the given organization must be found. This requires an expert partner who has sufficient experience to support these tasks.

  • Please explain the Encrypt Everything Strategy

Gabor: We have already improved this strategy and made it much more sophisticated. At the moment, we prefer to say "Take control of your data", i.e. controlling is the most important and apply for protection according to the classification and sensitivity of the given data, i.e. encrypt it if you have to, but it is possible that you "only" have to monitor it.

  • How can Thales help in securing data?

Gabor: Thales has a wide data protection portfolio that can cover the entire data protection life cycle: we can discover organizations' sensitive data either in the cloud or on-premise systems and protect data at rest, in motion, and in use.

  • What do you expect from Thales & Forcepoint Bootcamp by Alfatec

Gabor: With the addition of Forcepoint's solutions, we can offer our customers an even more effective and comprehensive solution, so I expect from the event that we will be able to effectively present the entire solution package to our most important partners.
