Once again, we participated in one of the largest career-oriented events in Croatia, the 12th Career Week for students of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin.
Alfatec Group presented itself to a hundred interested students at the Career Stroll of FOI, led by young talents from the Business Intelligence, Software Research and development, and IT Security divisions, under the guidance of the human resources team.
This was an excellent opportunity for students to get acquainted with Alfatec and learn what it's like to work in an ICT company that celebrated its 34th birthday this year. They were also interested in the career paths of our young colleagues, as some of them graduated from FOI, and some started their careers at Alfatec while still in college.
Knowing that Alfatec offers the possibility of hybrid work and paid student internships, students pleasantly surprised us with their different questions about working conditions at Alfatec and conditions for students. We found it particularly intriguing that there was a significant level of interest among freshmen, and the increased number of applications for student internships confirmed this interest.
Given recent changes in the IT job market, there is currently no shortage of programmers and related professionals. Some of the students who visited us were already aware of this fact, and we were happy to advise them on their educational direction and what they should explore further. In addition to our experience in software development, we also discussed lesser-known facts about information security and our IT security department. This topic was especially interesting to students in the Applied Information Technology in Business program, who are taking courses on information security.
We commend the decision of the Center for Student Support and Career Development at FOI to encourage students to start their career development from the moment they enroll in college and engage in various activities and events to stay informed about opportunities and prepare for the future.
We believe that we will successfully participate in this event again next year!
