What we request
The person in the Data Engineer position will be focused on creating, testing, and maintaining quality data pipeline infrastructure and will identify opportunities to increase the efficiency of existing data systems and processes.
We're looking for someone to take on ETL/ELT, pipeline building, integration of new sources via API, query optimization and backend in general, and tasks include:
- Infrastructure development, with advanced knowledge and use of SQL for optimal ETL from various data sources.
- Development of scripts for data processing and processes (Python).
- Assembling complex data sets for various business purposes.
- Coordination, communication, and collaboration with other colleagues to achieve optimal solutions.
- Setting up Google Cloud Platform (or AWS or Azure) architecture.
- Ensuring security of cloud infrastructure and processes by applying best practices.
- Application of modern principles and methodologies to improve business initiatives and capabilities.
- Preparation of test cases and testing strategies, system testing and integration.
- Taking care of solution delivery quality for the product.
- Mentoring younger colleagues as needed.
- Continuous improvement and keeping up with technologies.
Minimum qualifications:
- Advanced use of SQL and optimization of relational models
- Excellent knowledge of Python (min 3, preferably 5 years of experience)
- Previous experience with Google Cloud Platform (or AWS or Azure) data sets
- Advanced use of relational databases
- Advanced knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence concepts
- Advanced knowledge of Big Data systems (Data Lakes, Data Warehouse, Data Mart)
- Use of software engineering best practices, development, testing, and operations processes
- Experience in methodologies and processes for managing large databases
- Excellent knowledge of English in speaking and writing
