Responsibilities:
The Data Engineer will focus on creating, testing, and maintaining high-quality data pipeline infrastructure, identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency of existing data systems and processes.
We're looking for someone to take on ETL/ELT, pipeline construction, integration of new sources via APIs, query optimization, and backend tasks, including:
- Developing data processing and scripting (Python)
- Compiling complex datasets for various business purposes
- Developing infrastructure using SQL for optimal ETL from various data sources
- Communicating and collaborating with other data and analytics colleagues
- Setting up Google Cloud Platform (or AWS or Azure) architecture
- Ensuring infrastructure and cloud process security through best practices
- Applying modern principles and methodologies to enhance business initiatives and capabilities
- Preparing test cases and strategies for testing, system testing, and integration
- Ensuring the quality of product delivery solutions
- Mentoring junior colleagues as needed
- Continuously improving and keeping up with technologies
Minimum qualifications:
- Excellent proficiency in Python (minimum 3, preferably 5 years of experience)
- Excellent proficiency in SQL
- Previous experience with Google Cloud Platform (or AWS or Azure)
- Familiarity with relational databases
- Understanding of basic data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
- Knowledge of basic Big Data system features
- Knowledge of best practices in software engineering, development processes, testing, and operations
- Experience in methodologies and processes for managing large databases
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
